Info: Lantus SoloStar contains insulin glargine, a long-acting recombinant human insulin analogue used to provide basal insulin replacement in patients with diabetes mellitus who require insulin therapy. Insulin glargine has a prolonged glucose-lowering effect and is designed to provide relatively consistent basal insulin activity over an extended period. By supporting glucose uptake in insulin-sensitive tissues and reducing glucose production by the liver, insulin glargine helps maintain blood glucose levels within the target range established for the individual patient.

Effects

Blood Glucose Control: Insulin glargine helps lower blood glucose by increasing glucose uptake into peripheral tissues and reducing hepatic glucose production. Its prolonged action supports basal glucose control between meals and during periods of fasting.

Basal Insulin Replacement: Lantus provides long-acting basal insulin coverage and is generally administered subcutaneously once daily. 

Dosage Range and Duration of Use

Lantus SoloStar is supplied as a 100 IU/mL solution, with each 3 mL pre-filled pen containing a total of 300 IU of insulin glargine. The appropriate dose must be determined individually by a qualified healthcare professional. Lantus is generally administered subcutaneously once daily at approximately the same time each day. The dose may require adjustment according to blood glucose levels, changes in diet or physical activity, other medications, and the patient's individual insulin requirements. Lantus should not be mixed with other insulin preparations or diluted.

Side Effects

The most clinically important adverse effect associated with insulin therapy is hypoglycemia, which may occur when the insulin dose exceeds the body's requirements. Symptoms can include sweating, trembling, hunger, dizziness, weakness, confusion, and changes in consciousness. Other possible adverse effects include injection-site reactions, lipodystrophy, localized cutaneous amyloidosis, temporary visual disturbances, and changes in potassium levels.

Post-Cycle Therapy

Lantus SoloStar contains insulin glargine and is not an anabolic steroid, androgenic compound, or testosterone-suppressing agent. Conventional post-cycle therapy (PCT), as used following anabolic steroid cycles, is therefore not applicable. Lantus is a prescription insulin medication intended for the management of diabetes and should be used only according to appropriate medical guidance.

Storage:

Keep Lantus SoloStar in its original packaging and store it according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Protect the insulin from excessive heat and direct sunlight and do not freeze it. Keep the product out of the reach of children. Before use, inspect the solution and do not use the pen if the insulin appears abnormal or the device is damaged.
