Info: Finasterix containing the active ingredient finasteride, is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor type of medication mainly used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The medication originated in the 1970s and was based on the finding that reduced enzyme activity of 5-alpha-reductase resulted in a decreased synthesis of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), leading to the development of the drug to reduce DHT and therefore characteristics of masculinization such as hair loss and prostate enlargement.
EFFECTS :
Finasteride works by decreasing the levels of DHT in the scalp and the prostate, where it is most needed. The decrease of these androgens has benefits in preventing hair loss, stimulating the growth of new hair, and reducing the size of the prostate gland, which aids with the symptoms of BPH like having to urinate often or not being able to do so.
DOSE RANGE AND DURATION OF USE:
In male pattern hair loss, 1 mg is the standard dosage in the form of an oral tablet. In order to see clear results, the treatment should run for a minimum of 3–6 months. The usual dose for BPH is 5 mg per day, taken by mouth over the course of several months.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:
The drug may also come with side effects such as sexual dysfunction (for example: reduction in libido, erectile dysfunction) and mood changes, and in very rare cases, may lead to gynecomastia (breast enlargement and tenderness). Allergic reactions: relatively rare but still a possibility
COMBINATION WITH OTHER MEDICINES:
Due to the fact that finasteride will inhibit the metabolism of other drugs in the same cycle, it is not usually taken during performance-enhancing cycles. It is primarily used to treat two specific medical conditions: male pattern hair loss and benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is rarely included in steroid cycles or other performance enhancement packages. Finasterix has proven itself to be such a well-established treatment for DHT suppression, which translates to the effective management of hair loss and benign prostatic hyperplasia with very minimal to no associated cardiovascular morbidity whatsoever.
