Info: Modacare 200 contains modafinil, a centrally acting wakefulness-promoting medicine used for the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness associated with conditions such as narcolepsy. Modafinil promotes wakefulness and helps improve daytime alertness. Its pharmacological effects are associated in part with interaction with the dopamine transporter and reduced dopamine reuptake, although its complete mechanism of action is not fully understood.

Effects

Wakefulness and Alertness: Modafinil promotes wakefulness and may improve the ability to remain awake and attentive during the daytime in individuals experiencing excessive sleepiness.

Attention and Psychomotor Function: By reducing excessive sleepiness, modafinil may support sustained attention and the ability to perform routine cognitive and psychomotor activities while awake.

Dosage Range and Duration of Use

For the treatment of excessive sleepiness, the standard adult dosage of modafinil is 200 mg taken orally once daily in the morning, or 100 mg to 200 mg taken approximately one hour prior to the start of a work shift for shift work disorder. In certain clinical cases, doses may be increased up to 400 mg daily, administered either as a single morning dose or divided into two 200 mg doses. Treatment duration is evaluated on an ongoing basis under appropriate medical supervision. Modafinil is a prescription medicine and should be used according to the applicable prescribing information.    

Side Effects

The safety profile of modafinil has been evaluated in clinical use, although individual reactions may vary. Commonly reported adverse effects include headache, nausea, nervousness, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Increased blood pressure or heart rate may also occur.

Rare but potentially serious reactions include severe skin reactions, hypersensitivity reactions, psychiatric symptoms, and cardiovascular effects. Medical attention should be sought if significant allergic, psychiatric, cardiovascular, or severe skin-related symptoms occur.

Post-Cycle Therapy

Modacare 200 contains modafinil and is not an anabolic steroid, androgenic compound, or testosterone-suppressing agent. Conventional post-cycle therapy (PCT), as used following anabolic steroid cycles, is therefore not applicable. Modacare 200 is a prescription medicine intended to promote wakefulness and should be used according to appropriate medical guidance.

Storage:

Keep Modacare 200 in its original packaging and store it according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Protect the tablets from excessive heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep the product out of the reach of children and do not use it after the expiration date shown on the packaging.
